Environmentally friendly

The FAME, commonly known as biodiesel, are the main item produced at the WRATISLAVIA-BIODIESEL S.A. plant, as well as the latest called UCOME, produced from post-frying oils. The plant also produces crude glycerol and high quality distilled (pharmaceutical) glycerine.

The installation used in production of esters was set up based on technology developed by DESMET BALLESTRA – the world leader in supplying production lines for the biofuel industry.

Biodiesel (RME)

Biodiesel serves as a perfect substitute for diesel oil. It can be used in diesel engine cars as a sole fuel (Biodiesel – B100) or as a fuel mix with diesel oil. This second option is currently dominant both in Polish as well European markets. Oil refineries (interchangeably with oil concerns) are obligated to mix fuel with a biocomponent (polish regulations allow for maximum 7% share of esters in “traditional gasoline” which is available at the gas stations).

The use of biodiesel decreases emissions of harmful substances to the atmosphere. Furthermore biodiesel is also biodegradable and nontoxic.

The Company produces biodiesel based on canola oil. This type of esters in comparison to other products within this category is distinguished by the highest quality and at the same time meets very strict requirements described by the European Standard (EN 14214).

UCOME

UCOME are Methyl Esters of Fatty Acids produced from post-frying oils. Due to the type of raw material, they are referred to as so-called second-generation biofuels, i.e. products made from waste (post-frying oils are categorized as waste).

The production of biofuels from waste is much more beneficial for the environment than production from traditional oils because:
1) agricultural raw materials are not used for production – that can be used as food made of agricultural products,
2) waste, which are onerous in utilization, are being disposed of (post-frying oils poured into the sewage system cause big problems in the process of sewage transfer and treatment).
Due to the above, UCOME methyl esters have a much higher potential to reduce CO2 emissions to the atmosphere (so-called GHG), which can be up to over 90% compared to standard fossil fuels.

The UCOME esters produced by WRATISLAVIA-BIODIESEL S.A. have very good quality parameters and are fully compliant with the requirements of the PN-EN 14214 standard.

Crude glycerine (technical)

Glycerin is a main by-product acquired during biodiesel production process. It is the simplest trihydrogen propylene alcohol.

It is widely used in the production of fertilizers and feed.

Crude glycerol is also being processed in order to produce a high quality refined glycerol, which meets the European Pharmacopoeia 8th edition (Eu Ph 8.0).

Pharmaceutical glycerine (refined)

For the production of pharmaceutical glycerin, we use only raw glycerin obtained from non-genetically modified rapeseed oil from our own production.

Refined glycerine is widely used in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food industry.

Bioethanol

Bioethanol (ethanol fuel) is an ethyl alcohol (agricultural, anhydrous) produced from raw materials of plant origin. It is used as a biocomponent in engine fuels and as a component in production of ethyl tert-butyl ether (ETBE).

Addition of bioethanol to engine fuels allows to improve the balance of carbon dioxide circulation. Bioethanol, due to production capacity and its unique properties, may become one of the most important future power-generating raw materials.
